Sidney James Beer (1875-1952)

Beer was a noted Cornish artist of mainly marine and coastal watercolours of the West Country who flourished during the 1920s. Born in Paignton, Devon, son of James Doderidge Beer, who was a carver and gilder. He moved to Cornwall in 1906 and set up studio in Church lane, Falmouth. He traded as a framer and dealer and moved to Carharrick near Redruth later in life.
