Ability: All (beginners upwards).
Mediums: All-drawing:charcoal, pencils, watercolour, pastels, gouache, oils, inks, acrylics
Subjects: all
Aim: learning basic skills, techniques, developing as an artist, gaining confidence, developing skills levels and technique
Objective: teaching independent learning, building confidence as an artist and finding individual style
How does it work: Cheri works one-to-one with each person within a small group setting.
Cost: £40 per session. Pay monthly in advance
NB:Standard courier charges will be automatically applied unless you choose an alternative such as ‘collect at gallery’ or specialist courier.

In a nutshell The sessions are 2 hrs long. It is a relaxed and friendly group of up to 5 people who are passionate about art. They all have different interests and use different mediums. Everyone can work on whatever subject they wish and in whatever medium. Everyone started as beginners so don't feel intimidated by them- we are all empathetic to how starting something new feels! Who is it suitable for? From complete beginners to intermediates. As the group is small this allows me to work one to one with each student on their chosen medium and subject. From watercolours, oils, acrylics to gouache and ink- we can cover everything. Subjects are varied. I believe that you should be interested in what you are creating, or else what is the point? If landscapes appeal that's fine, or maybe it's wildlife or nature, people or buildings- anything you want! You should also know that Claude the gallery dog will be present to reassure you. He does sleep most of the time though! What is the Aim of the Class? This class is about you and your own artistic journey. You will become familiar with a variety of mediums, materials, techniques and colour theory. You will learn how to see like an artist. You will develop at your own pace. It is about building your confidence and skills to ultimately find your own style and be an independent learner.You will be supported by Cheri and the rest of the group. How does it work? It starts with a chat- I need to ascertain what level you are and what you want to achieve then we go from there! What Materials do I need? Initially, you do not need any equipment. I will discuss what you need and advise you on what materials to purchase and where to purchase. I will advise on equipment to save you from spending a fortune on inferior materials that will hinder your progress. I can provide some materials for you to try at no extra cost. if you do have any art equipment at all then it will be helpful to see what type of equipment you have been using - so please bring it along.
